Missed-call text-back

For plumbers, HVAC, electricians, roofers, and other home-service trades.

You cannot answer the phone from the top of a ladder, inside an attic, or halfway through a drain clean-out. Most trade businesses miss calls sometimes. What matters is what the caller hears next.

Missed-call text-back sends the caller a short text from your business when a call goes unanswered, so they know the call was seen. Texting is not offered yet. Business texting has to be registered with the carriers, and that registration is not approved yet.

What you get

  • A short text in your business name to callers you missed, once texting is approved.
  • A reply inbox your team can open from a phone or a computer.
  • Rules you choose for when the text goes out.
  • A clear opt-out in every message.
  • Your current business number kept as it is.

How we get started

  1. A call to learn how calls come in today and who calls people back.
  2. We write the text with you, in your words.
  3. We set up the reply inbox and the rules for when it sends.
  4. We test it with you, and switch it on only once business texting is approved.

Your quote spells out each step.

Where it stands today

Carriers in the United States require businesses to register before they send business texts from a local phone number. That registration is not approved yet, so we are not sending texts for anyone, and we will not tell you otherwise.

If missed calls are costing you work now, tell us how calls come in today, and we will tell you plainly what we can set up for you now.

What it will do once texting is approved

  • Send a short text, in your business name and your words, to a caller whose call to your business number was not answered.
  • Put replies in an inbox your office can open from a phone or a computer, so whoever is free can answer.
  • Follow rules you choose, such as open hours only, after hours only, or both.
  • Include a clear opt-out in every message, and go only to people who called you first.

Your Google listing stays as it is

The phone number on your Google Business Profile is part of how Google and your customers recognize your business. Text-back is set up around the number customers already know, and we explain exactly what will change before anything is switched on.

How setup works

We work by phone, video call, recorded walkthrough, and email. We start by learning how calls come in today and who usually calls people back. Then we write the text with you, set up the reply inbox, and test it with you before it is switched on.

Missed-call text-back is quoted per business. Ask for a free quote and we will tell you plainly where texting approval stands.

Common questions

Can I use it today?

Not yet. Business texting has to be registered with the carriers, and that registration is not approved yet. Ask for a free quote and we will tell you plainly what we can set up now.

Do I need a new phone number?

Usually not. It is set up around the number already on your trucks, your website, and your Google listing, and we explain any change before we make it.

Can my office manager answer the texts?

Yes. Once it is switched on, replies go to an inbox that you and your team can open from a phone or computer, so whoever is free can respond.

What rules apply to business texting?

Carriers require businesses to register before texting from a local phone number, messages should go only to people who contacted you or agreed to hear from you, and people must be able to opt out at any time, such as by replying STOP. We handle the registration and opt-out setup with you.
