An AI receptionist for your trade business

When you are under a sink or up on a roof, a new caller does not get your best attention, and the customer in front of you deserves all of it. An AI receptionist answers for you, so you can finish the work and call back when you are ready, with the details in hand.

We are building it for trade businesses: a chat assistant on your website and a voice assistant on your phone line, both answering in your business name and following the rules you set. It is still being built, so it is quote only for now.

What you get

  • A voice assistant that answers your forwarded calls in your business name.
  • A chat assistant on your website that answers from your own pages and the answers you approve.
  • The caller or visitor details sent to you by email after each conversation.
  • Urgent calls passed to you or your on-call person, on rules you set.
  • Test calls and test chats with you before anything goes live.

How we get started

  1. A call to map how calls come in today, what counts as urgent, and who is on call.
  2. We write the greeting, the questions it asks, and the answers it can give, and you approve them.
  3. We set up the chat on your website and the forwarding rules on your phone line.
  4. We run test calls and test chats with you, and change anything that does not sound like you.
  5. We switch it on for the hours you choose and go through the first conversations with you.

Your quote spells out each step.

On your phone line

When you cannot pick up, your calls forward to the assistant. It answers in your business name, tells callers they are speaking with an automated assistant, answers the common questions you approve, and takes the caller’s name, address, phone number, and what the job is.

Calls you mark as urgent, such as no cooling in July or water on the floor, are passed to you or whoever is on call. Everything else is written up and sent to you, so you can call back when you are off the roof.

On your website

A chat box on your site answers questions from your own pages and the answers you approve: the areas you serve, the jobs you take, and your hours. It asks for the visitor’s name, phone number, and what they need, and sends the details to you by email.

It does not quote prices or diagnose problems. Those questions go to you.

After hours

Evenings, weekends, and holidays, the assistant takes the details, answers routine questions, and sends urgent calls to your on-call person. Routine callers are told when to expect your call back. You choose the hours it covers.

How calls get to you

Your number stays the same. Calls reach the assistant through call forwarding from your main number, on the rules you choose: when you do not answer, after hours, or both. You can turn forwarding off at any time.

The number on your trucks, your website, and your Google Business Profile does not change.

What you can review

  • A short written summary of each call and chat, sent to you by email.
  • The full conversation, so you can see what was asked and what was said.
  • The questions it asks and the answers it gives, which you approve before it goes live and can change later.
  • Call recordings, only if your setup uses them. Callers are told at the start of the call.

Where it fits, and its limits

It is meant for owner-operators and small crews. If you answer the phone and do the work, it is built to let you stay with the job in front of you. It can also serve as an after-hours backup for companies that already have an office team.

It is designed for routine conversations and following your rules. It is not a replacement for your judgment on a complicated job. Callers can ask for a call back at any time, and nobody gets trapped in a phone tree.

How setup works

We work by phone, video call, recorded walkthrough, and email. We plan the call rules with you, write the script and the chat answers, run test calls and test chats with you, and show you how to change the on-call contact yourself.

Common questions

Will callers know they are talking to an automated assistant?

Yes. It tells callers it is an automated assistant for your business, and anyone who wants a person can ask for a call back.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Calls reach the assistant by forwarding from your main number, which stays yours. You can turn forwarding off at any time, and the number on your Google Business Profile stays the same.

Can it book jobs?

Not directly. It takes a booking request, with the day and time the caller would like, and sends it to you by email to confirm. You stay in charge of your schedule.

Does it quote prices?

No. It answers the questions you approve, and anything about price or a diagnosis goes to you.

Is it available now?

It is still being built, so it is quote only for now. Ask for a free quote and we will tell you plainly where it stands and what it would do for your business.
